The Medical Technology Leadership Forum (MTLF) brings together members of the medical technology community, including innovative bioengineers, physicians, research institutions and universities, health plans, device manufacturers and patient organizations. MTLF Forums include key leaders in public policy to promote dialogue and debate about policy issues of pressing interest to the medical technology community.

MTLF holds three Forums each year. The Fall Forum at the University of Minnesota, the Capitol Forum in Washington, D.C., and a Spring Forum at collaborating universities. The 2006 Spring Forum was held at the Harvard Medical School. The 2007 Spring Forum will be hosted by the Georgia Institute of Technology.

The Forum dialogue and discussions are stimulating learning experiences for all participants. Forum Reports, that capture the discussion and distill the issues, are widely circulated to the larger medical technology community, federal and state policy makers and the media. MTLF Forums and Reports have covered many key and emerging issues, including Medicare coverage policy, Regulatory issues for innovations such as combination products, conflicts of interest, barriers to multi-disciplinary research, to name a few.

MTLF Forums are open to MTLF supporters and invited guests. If you would like more information on how your organization can participate, contact the MTLF office.
